Calling all beer and book lovers: will you join our brewery book club? Every other month, we team up with the Cambridge Public Library to highlight contemporary works from marginalized voices. All over a fresh, craft beer, of course!
This month we are thrilled to read Airplane Mode: An Irreverent History of Travel by Shahnaz Habib! This witty personal and cultural history of travel from the perspective of a Third World-raised woman of color asks: what does it mean to be a joyous traveler when we live in the ruins of colonialism, capitalism and climate change?
We’ll gather in person in our Broadway location’s back taproom on Wednesday, January 3rd at 7:00 pm for our monthly discussion. Grab a beer, cold brew, or kombucha at the front bar, then come find us in the back. The discussion is casual, and all are welcome – even if you don’t finish the book, we’d still love to have you.
So we can have a sense of numbers, please register on Eventbrite – it’s free, we just like to know how many folks we can expect.
There are print copies of Airplane Mode is available at the Cambridge Public Library Main Q&A Desk. E-book and digital audiobooks can also be borrowed through OverDrive or the Libby app. Let us know if you need help accessing the book.
Please note that our taprooms are 21+ and all guests should be prepared to show a valid, current government-issued photo ID at the door.
