Join us at South Street Farm for our annual Maple Syrup Boil Down! Each winter Groundwork Somerville taps local sugar maple trees on Tufts Campus and collects the sap with volunteers from the community. The Boil Down is a chance to experience the process of boiling sap into maple syrup and to connect with our community.
LOCAL SAP & SYRUP TASTING | MAPLE TAPPING & BOILING DEMOS | PANCAKES & HOT CIDER | MERCHANDISE | LIVE MUSIC
Please, support us at our upcoming fundraisers! Visit us at a Maple Brunch hosted by The Independent on February 18th, and a special brew release crafted with local sap at Sap on Tap hosted by Aeronaut Brewery on April 14th. A portion of the proceeds goes to fund the Maple Syrup Project. Groundwork staff and trained community volunteers teach four-week art and science curriculum to second graders at public schools across the city. The season culminates in a spectacular community boil down event held at the South Street Farm, which is free and open to the public.
Rain date: Sunday, March 17th from 10 AM - 1 PM
