The Managing Emotions Group:
Mastering Anger, Addiction, Forgiveness & Reconciliation (AAFR)
February 13, 2019 – May 15, 2019
The Managing Emotions Group will focus on the expression and management of emotions. Some of the emotions that will be discussed are anger, guilt, sadness, and hopelessness. Participants will learn how to effectively remain in control of the previously listed emotions (and more) in an effective and healthy way. This group will provide participants with the opportunity to recognize physical and emotional responses to difficult emotions, explore thoughts/feelings and situations that lead to outburst and unhealthy decision-making patterns (including addictions) while developing strategies to manage emotions in a healthy manner.
Additionally, forgiveness and Reconciliation will be explored in conjunction with selected emotions. Forgiveness issues are typically set within the context of relationships (with another person or themselves) with an extensive history, where individuals have struggled long and hard to make sense of the offense(s) they’ve committed or the offenses of those who have harmed them. This is the second phase of our group where the focus will be: Practicing Hope and Forgiveness.
Upon completion of the group:
Benefits:
