The beloved hypnotic-rock assault HORSE LORDS are barreling back into town this month and on a MONDAY no less! This may be their 5th appearance in Boston in as many years and each time has had more energy and jaw-dropping as the last. This incomprehensibly tight foursome alters your perception of rock music with microtonal riffs, dueling drums, shredding saxophone and jerky grooves that keep you hanging on their every move. Any who share a bill with da lords will be tempted to match their energy.. an impossible feat.. but CREATIVE HEALING will come closer than any other. This newish group has been secretly meeting in W Mass in recent months putting together a fresh collection of noisy, funky and hyper-engaging jazz-rock jammers and have only recently unleashed them onto us. This group features several MA-based players like Mia Friedman (Of Thousands, Between Two Elk), Katie McShane (Listening Woman, EKP), Jesse Heasly (Tredici Bacci)m Nick Neuberg (Particulars, -1) and founding member of Guerilla Toss Andy Allen (Friendship Ceremonies, Bang! Bros). It’s quite a sight.. and a mouthful of “members of” am i right? Plus Boston resident/Baltimore native Stone Filipczak will bring his SPY IN THE SKY project to push us off the shores of boredom, bound for noisy waters.
Do not miss this, especially as it will be held in a brand new show-hosting spot in Fenway, HOJOKO, opening their arms to our scene. Show them how grateful we are by not living up to our reputation as a class of people who tear shit up just for fun.. Even tho we might sometimes.. See ya there
Doors at 8pm, an all ages event (21+ to drink), $10 suggested donation.
