This Friday we’ve lined up another mix of local and touring electronic artists curated by Moon Villain. As always the focus is on improvised hardware sets: these artists make great recordings but they’re still only documents compared to their live performances.
We’re excited to be hosting Montreal improviser Karl Fousek, who’s releases on Phinery, Spring Break Tapes, and others show a skillful range on the modular while keeping things nice and abstract. Similarly, local Jimmy Hughes is always exploring the mutability of electronic music in his Dinnersss performances (“I’ve never seen Jimmy play the same setup twice.” – some guy at a show).

Ice Joke is the new collaboration of two old heads; Joe Bastardo and Mickey O’hara. Combining modular synth with MAX/MSP they excel at keeping an organic flow of glitched out sounds that will entrance you and then snap you out of it, repeatedly (“Ice Joke is the Autecture of Worcester.” – diff guy at diff show ).

The show starts at 9 with a techno set from local hardware jammers Hybrid Decliners.
