Multi-Genre Saxophonist / Composer / Arranger / Musician Rights Advocate from San Juan Puerto Rico with over 20 years of experience in the field of musical performance. His sweet sax tone and compositional style delivers lyrical melodies that melt hearts and warm souls mixed with a strong “in your face” vibrating sound that screams raw emotion. Born in San Juan Puerto Rico to a Puerto Rican mother and a Dominican father, Jonathan has been at it for a minute. He's a traveled a unique path filled with rewarding collaborations and performance opportunities alongside artists such as: Miguel Zenón, Terri Lyne Carrington, Paoli Mejías, Ilé, Giovanni Hidalgo, Tito Matos, Ricardo Pons, Calma Carmona, William Cepeda, Jon Secada, Pedro Capó, Obie Bermudez, Humberto Ramirez, Silverio Perez, Charlie Sepúlveda and more.
Jonathan obtained his Bachelors in Jazz & Caribbean Music (Magna Cum Laude 2012) at the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico and his Masters in Contemporary Performance (Magna Cum Laude 2017) at Berklee Collage of Music (Global Jazz Institute). He’s been mentored by outstanding individuals such as Yoga & Alexander Technique Master Karen Langevin and Legendary Musicians: David Sanchez, Terri Lyne Carrington, Marco Pignataro, Jon Patitucci, Danilo Perez, George Garzone and Joe Lovano. This has led to the formation of an individual that can be equally comfortable on the big stage performing for thousands, at the museum providing music for groups of individuals with disabilities, and in the experimental hall incorporating body and sound to a free collective improvisation.
