Needham, MA – On Sunday, April 30th, the Plugged In Band Program is excited to present “Let’s Rock n’ Roll: Music from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc.,” a fun, community-wide music event for the whole family. The event will run from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Needham’s History Center & Museum, 1147 Central Avenue. Six Boston-area bands will get the crowd up on their feet! The celebration will also include a silent auction, dinner options (Ticket price includes dessert!), a cash bar, and activities for children. All proceeds from “Let’s Rock n’ Roll” will benefit Plugged In’s Scholarship and Inclusion Program, which last year awarded 60 scholarships, valued at $74,765.
For over 20 years, Plugged In has given young people the opportunity to belong to a welcoming, supportive musical community. Every semester, about 150 school-age students learn how to be part of a rock band in a non-competitive and inclusive environment. No child is ever turned away, regardless of ability to pay, learning profile, disability, or musical experience. Plugged In organizes the bands and provides rehearsal space as well as seasoned adult instructors. Students also learn about the importance of giving to the community by performing at concerts that benefit student-chosen charitable organizations.
Tickets to “Let’s Rock n’ Roll” are available at www.PluggedInBand.org, (for $25 or less if purchased by April 7th) and at the door. Dessert is included. For more information, please email us at [email protected] or call (781) 444-1879.
“Let’s Rock n’ Roll” is made possible through the generous support of J.C. Cannistraro, LLC, Bain Capital Community Partnership, OutaHit Records, Dedham Savings Bank, Needham History Center and Museum, Middlesex Savings Bank, Roche Bros., Village Bank, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Copley Motorcars, Volante Farms, and Tremont School.
The Plugged In Band Program is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
