Lesley University welcomes public to campus, Jan. 6-14
CAMBRIDGE, MA — Lesley University’s Winter Reading Series will bring acclaimed and award-winning authors to campus from January 6-14. All readings will be held at University Hall, 1815 Massachusetts Ave, 2-150, Cambridge, and are free and open to the public. They will also be accessible via Zoom.
Deaf, genderqueer poet Meg Day will headline the series with a reading on Jan. 7 at 6:30 pm. Day, an assistant professor at North Carolina State University, is the author of “Last Psalm at Sea Level,” winner of the Publishing Triangle’s Audre Lorde Award and a past recipient of the NEA Fellowship in Poetry. Day’s writing can be found or is forthcoming in Best American Poetry, The New York Times, Poetry Magazine, among others.
The line-up of writers will read from their work in nonfiction, poetry, fiction, writing for stage and screen and writing for young people. Best-selling young adult authors Jason Reynolds and Sara Farizan along with graphic novelist John Rozum and memoirist Janet Pocorobba will read from their work, and the series culminates with sessions from graduating MFA students.
The public is also invited to panels on crafting picture books and writing for young people.
