Leica Gallery Boston is excited to unveil, for the first time, A Longer View from photographer and musician D. Randall Blythe. The exhibit, which features striking images of the environment and human’s intervention, will debut with an opening reception on September 13 from 6-9PM. Blythe will also lead an Artist Talk at the gallery on September 14 to discuss his work in-depth.
Blythe’s work speaks to the destructive impact of our species to the environment captured through the lens of his Leica M. It is his hope that the intersection of these images of dissent, waste, and beauty will encourage each viewer to take “a longer view” and consider their impact on the environment as he tries to do the same. “Perhaps together we can begin to reject the devastating environmental short-sightedness that has been the hallmark of human expansion in the modern age,” says Blythe.
