Class Description
Over the course of 2 to 3 hours, this class aims to teach students the basics of leatherworking. This class will walk students through creating a basic belt design, choosing the proper materials (types of leather, leather weights, pre-finished vs. raw leather, thread type, etc.), selecting the proper tools and using them correctly, finishing techniques, and more.
Class Goals
Students will gain a basic understanding of leatherworking tools and methods. They will learn to identify different types of leather and from there be able to determine the pros and cons of working with each type. Students leave with the knowledge and ability to not only complete this project again on their own, but also expand their knowledge into other similar projects.
Materials Provided
All materials are provided. Students are welcome to bring their own buckles if they would like, but I will have basic buckles they can use.
Cost:
$55 sign up fee, $25 materials fee; payable to Instructor in class
