Generally considered to be the first English oratorio, “Esther” tells the dramatic story of a Jewish orphan who single-handedly saves her people. Esther is married to the powerful Persian King Ahasuerus. When Prime Minister Haman orders the extermination of all Jews in the kingdom, Esther takes decisive action. Heinrich Christensen leads the King’s Chapel Choir, soloists, and orchestra. Soloists are Mary Sullivan, Esther; Brian Church, Haman; Andy Troska, Mordecai; and Tevan Goldberg, Ahasuerus.
