Escape YOUR reality at King Richard’s Faire, New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance festival on Rt. 58 in Carver, Mass. running through October 22nd, including the Monday holiday Oct. 9th.
This weekend, King Richard invites all to an epic Viking Tug O'War on the joust field at 4:00 p.m. Bring warrior friends or join a team to compete in a tug o'war competition and be the victors in this challenge of strength! Registration is one half-hour before at "The King’s Nuts" at the Joust Field and is free with adult admission to King Richard's Faire.
Don't want to compete? Cheer on the warriors from the sidelines and enjoy eight stages of live entertainment all day, along with rides & skill games, food and drynk and talented artisans demonstrating their crafts and wares.
Guests will be dazzled by acrobats, aerialists, and jugglers and be captivated by minstrels, dancers, and puppeteers and enthralled by fire-eaters, magicians, and acrobatic canines. Hundreds of talented performers perform non-stop throughout the day on any one of our eight vibrant stages. The King’s handsome knights battle on horseback as bawdy beggars compete in mud. Frolicking fairies can be seen dancing through the forest, and guests can try their skills in his majesty’s Gaming Glen.
Afterward, epicurean pleasures suited for royalty will tantalize even the pickiest of taste buds. Satiate thy palate with giant spit-roasted turkey legs and boules of chowder or stew, and quench thy thirst with champagne, specialty cocktails, mead, cider, wine, and brew.
Many of the King’s talented artisans journey from around the globe and have much to offer all who enter the gates of Carvershire. Discover beautiful handspun pottery, fabulous jewelry, and incredible face painting. Delight in period clothing, leather, armor, and moccasins. Be amazed by our blacksmith and forged weaponry and other works of art. Revel in scented oils, perfumes, handmade crafts, and psychic readings as you make memories to last a lifetime.
The Faire’s 42nd season in Carvershire is ruled by King Richard XI and his lovely bride, Queen Anne III, along with a lineup of talented artisans and entertainers. Specialty acts include three live jousts daily by the Hanlon-Lees Action Theater (noon, 2:30 & 5:00), Jacques Ze Whipper, Ses Carny’s The Torture Show, The Washing Well Wench Show, the Sturdy Beggars Mud Show, Mystikal Web Weaving, The Accidental Acrobats, Unspun Tales aerial show, and many more. New this year: Rowdy Bardlings band and Pict's Pipers split the season, and comedian Jim Mackenzie's antics split the season with acrobat and juggler Jamey Mossengren, the Unicycling Unicorn. As every year, this year's original musical in two acts blends entertaining Renaissance-themed parodies of pop favorites and Broadway show tunes for all ages.
