Kelly Bray is an improviser recognized for her adventurous and dynamic performances. While her work draws from many different styles and influences, she is most frequently characterized within the experimental, free jazz, and creative music realms. Bray has performed at venues across the Northeast United States and Canada, appearing alongside internationally recognized improvisors, such as Joe Morris and Alan Braufman.
Jacob Hiser is a versatile pianist/violinist who studies and performs a variety of musical traditions. Born and raised in rural Missouri, he grew up playing bluegrass, country, blues, rock, jazz, and European classical music. He aspires to create webs of connection between musical voices near and distant, in time and space and genre, tracing threads of musical lineages and kinship, particularly highlighting those invisible threads who tend to be overlooked or forgotten.
As an improvising duo, Bray and Hiser create exciting textures spanning across many styles and traditions.
