Come to JP and play casual chess and participate in chess tournaments as part of Jamaica Plain's Open Streets 2024 event on Sunday, July 21, 2024.


The tournaments are unrated and open to everyone. We have prizes as well. This year the prize fund presently stands at $245 thanks to donations from Kendall Square Dental, Monumental Market, On Centre, The BYTE Shop, J.P. Licks and Papercuts Bookshop.

As the event takes place in an open public place please take care of your belongings. Juniors require parental supervision. Also, as we shall be outdoors, we suggest wearing a hat and using sunscreen.
