Not only are our teaching artists committed to the musical, social and emotional growth of each child, but they are also talented musicians in their own right. Each week, our Couch Concerts will give you a chance to get to know these artists better from the comfort of your couch! Tune in just before 7pm to our Josiah Quincy Orchestra Program page to watch the concert on Facebook Live.
We care deeply about our teaching artists, and the relationships they’ve established with JQOP children – not just through the current crisis, but over the long-term.
To sustain our work during this challenging time, we ask for you to consider a contribution to JQOP of any size. All gifts made to JQOP will be matched by the Massachusetts Cultural Council up to $19,000 before April 30.
Our Spring Into Giving campaign launched on March 1st, however we had to cancel 7 community and fundraising events planned in March and April, including a collaboration with The Celebrity Series of Boston, a pre-performance at the Boston Symphony, and a special performance at the MA State House. Our annual fundraising goal is to raise $50,000 to continue to ensure cost never impedes a child from learning to express and create music deeply, receive its many social and cognitive benefits, and make positive life choices as a result of this learning.
At Josiah Quincy Orchestra Program, no child or family is ever turned away because of financial limitations. 56% of program costs per child are subsidized by the organization for our families paying full tuition, and 57% of our students receive financial assistance.
