What is All of Us?
All of Us is a research program from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It is seeking one million or more people from across the U.S. to help speed up medical research. People who join will share information about their health, habits, and what it’s like where they live. By looking for patterns, researchers will learn more about what affects people’s health.
Locally, Mass General Brigham and Boston Medical Center are working together as All of Us New England. Learn more about All of Us New England.
Diversity is one of the core values of the All of Us Research Program. Participants are from different races, ethnicities, age groups, and regions of the country. They are also diverse in gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, disability, and health status. By joining the All of Us Research Program, you could help make a difference in closing the racial, gender, and age gaps that exist in medical research.
If you decide to join the All of Us Research Program, you will be contributing to an effort to improve the health of generations to come.
You also may learn about your own health: In addition to helping researchers with your data, you will learn more about yourself through the process. If you give a blood or saliva sample to the program, All of Us can check your DNA for information that could be important for your health. They could also tell you about other results, such as your genetic ancestry (where your family comes from).
What participants share: Participants answer health surveys, donate DNA samples, and share their electronic health records. Learn more about what to expect.

Data from All of Us could someday help researchers...
1) Identify what makes people more likely to develop a disease
2) Find out how environment, lifestyle, and genes can impact health
3) Build better tools for detecting a health condition and encouraging healthy habits
All of Us is powered by participants. By joining the program, you can...
1) Help represent your community in important studies that may lead to new research findings, treatments, and cures
2) Learn about your own health, including risk factors that are specific to your family history or community
3) Learn about additional research opportunities, such as clinical trials, that may be relevant to you
4) Leave a legacy for your children, your grandchildren, and future generations by supporting potential breakthroughs in areas such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, dementia, depression, and chronic pain
