Pianist and multi-instrumentalist Calvin Limuel branches out from jazz, bringing in threads from gospel, rock, electronic music, R&B, and more. He’s a regular jam session host at historic Wally’s Café. He’s followed tonight by funk organ trio Kenmore & West, known for their anti-capitalist Shakira tribute (!). Drawing inspirations from Soulive, Otis Grove, The Meters, cumbia, dabke, and more, Kenmore & West describe themselves as a motley crew of socially-minded local musicians sounding their way toward collective liberation.
Jazz Sundays at The Square Root brings together Boston’s best jazz artists in an intimate restaurant setting for performances and themed jams.
