A core trio consisting of Michael Shea, piano, Alvin Terry, drums and Akili Jamal Hayes, bassist/multi-instrumentalist, will present an evening of jazz music written by, played by and written for the late pianist, Geri Allen. The performance will include comments on Geri Allen’s history, the communities and styles she traveled through and her unique contributions to the jazz idiom.


Our series is named in memory of John Kleshinski, our former CMCB Board President. All concerts are informal, family-friendly and run approximately ninety minutes in length — a great opportunity to enjoy a diverse sampling of musical instruments and genres.
