Learn the art of Japanese Taiko drumming and cultivate your body, mind, and spirit!


Using our entire bodies to learn and play a song, we experience first-hand the power of Japanese Taiko drumming, while exploring its rich traditions and history. Recreational Taiko Class is an invigorating experience for body, mind, and spirit! In our Recreational Taiko Class, new drummers learn essential taiko skills such as kata (form), kiai (vocalization) and kumi-daiko (ensemble drumming).


What to bring
This commanding art form engages the entire body. Please wear comfortable clothes to class. Bring plenty of spirit, energy, and water! Hearing protection is also recommended.


Date: Monday Evenings
Time: 6:45pm – 8:30pm
Location: 7 Medford St. Arlington MA 02474. (Please note: Enter the glass door to the left of the main theater entrance of the Regent Theater when facing the Arlington Regent Theater.)
Cost: $25 per class.
Open to All: Recreational Taiko is open to everyone–no previous drumming or musical experience is necessary.
