Spring ('haru' in Japanese) is generally from March to May in Japan, and is considered to be the season of meeting and parting since, for example, entrance and graduation ceremonies in schools are held in March and April. 'Sakura' (cherry blossoms), which is one of the national flowers in Japan, is the special symbol of the season. In this class, we are going to see Japanese traditional seasonal events, foods etc. in spring. We will feel spring through Japanese songs, poetries, novels, mangas, TV shows and movies featuring Sakura blossoms. Let’s talk about one of the most beautiful seasons in Japan! This class is for students who have completed Beginner Level 2 class or equivalent/higher, have learned hiragana, katakana, and have some knowledge of basic conjugations of verbs (masu-form etc.).
Instructor: Tomoko Takagi
This class will meet in-person at CCAE with a limited student capacity. Our in-person class guidelines for the fall can be found at ccae.org/in-person-classes.
