Learn about the American Revolution through the life of someone who was living on the fringes of society, struggling to make ends meet. Jane Mecom was born in Boston in 1712 and experienced the changing political climate while enduring turmoil in her personal life, including living in poverty, her husband’s death, and the loss of her children. Through surviving letters, we know that she experienced these trials in tandem.
This program presented by the Boston Public Library and the National Park Service will happen over Zoom webinar. To attend, please register here.
