Saturday, September 25, 2001 at 8:00pm at Harvard-Epworth Church in Cambridge will witness the many talents of David Coleman as pianist and composer in a program entitled Invitation to the Dance. Comfortable in musical styles from gospel to classical, Mr. Coleman will perform on keyboard in David Baker’s piano trio, Boogie Woogie, and as composer in his Sonata con Fusion with Gabriela Díaz, violin. Music of Leonard Bernstein, Paquito D’Rivera, William Bolcom, Guillaume Connesson, and Astor Piazzolla will round out this diverse program.


PERFORMERS:
David Coleman, piano; Rane Moore, clarinet; Gabriela Díaz, violin; Peggy Pearson, oboe; and Jan Müller-Szeraws, cello.

David Baker: Boogie Woogie from Roots II for Piano Trio
William Bolcom: 3 Rags for oboe and piano trans. Pearson
Leonard Bernstein: Meditation 3 from the Mass for cello and piano
Guillaume Connesson: Disco-Toccata for clarinet and cello
Paquito D’Rivera: Lecuonerias from Cape Cod Files for solo clarinet
David Coleman: Sonata con Fusion for violin and piano
Astor Piazzolla: Libertango
