Intro to Italic Calligraphy

Italic calligraphy is a beautiful lettering style that evolved in 15th-century Italy and is created with a broad-edged pen. In this introductory-level class, participants will be guided in the basic elements of broad-edged lettering, such as pen angle, letter proportion, and letter slope. This is a fun and functional lettering style that can be used for envelope addressing, place cards, and other stationery items, as well as for poetry, quotations, and various keepsakes and gifts. You’ll have lots of practice and a few simple projects to really get familiar with this lettering style.
