Every March the international community celebrates the lives and contributions of women and those who identify as women.
In 2024, the United Nations Association of Greater Boston is celebrating International Women’s Day with a special SDG Perspective Series event focused on “Financial Security and Independence for Women Worldwide” as we delve deeper into the global and local implications of Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
Agency over one's financial future has the potential to transform lives and, on a large scale, contributes meaningfully towards greater gender equality. Formatted as one of UNAGB's SDG Perspective Series events, the program will convene an expert panel to provide a variety of perspectives on the intersection of SDG 5: Gender Equality and the world of finance. Through this meaningful discussion, attendees will gain a better understanding of a multi-faceted and multi-national issue while also learning about opportunities for local action.
Doors will open 30 mins before the panel begins, to allow for additional networking with other likeminded global citizens, followed by a panel discussion with leaders in finance, nonprofit , and government sectors in and around Boston.
