In this hands-on class, you will learn three popular dishes that use spinach, or Palak, as it is known in India. A seasonal vegetable, spinach is only available a few months out of the year, so home cooks incorporate it into their dishes through a wide variety of recipes. We will make Palak-Paneer (a famous north Indian curry with onions, pungent spices, and paneer), Palak Pulao of Basmati Rice (with spinach, tomatoes, brown sugar, and garam masala with peanuts and cashews), and finally Spinach Pancakes (with chickpea flour, onions, tomatoes, chilies and ginger.) Let’s go green!
As part of Powisset Farm’s Guest Chef Series, Indian Culinary Classcis is taught by Shruti Mehta, who has been teaching Indian cooking to Boston-area Indian food aficionados for over 25 years. In addition to sharing the distinguished culinary traditions of India, Shruti is a designer of ethnic Indian clothing.

Cancellation Policy: In the event The Trustees cancels a program due to severe weather, low enrollment, or other circumstances, we will notify registrants by email and issue a full refund or transfer to another scheduled program within two weeks of the cancellation. To cancel a reservation, please contact Powisset Farm 7 days prior to the start of the program to receive a full refund. Refunds and transfers will not be granted for cancellations placed fewer than 7 days before the start of the program.
