Improvised History is an entirely improvised show based on what we remember about History.
Join the cast of Improvised History as we sail the high seas in search of fortune, notoriety, and revenge. This season, we’re all about pirates, privateers, buccaneers, and other seafaring glory seekers ne’er-do-wells. The show will be inspired by historical texts and guest speakers, then the ensemble will weave an entirely improvised narrative of how we think things might have gone down.
Improvised History shows at the Democracy Center are “pay what you want.” We do this show because we love history and improv; we’re not in it to make money. If you’d like to support us, we welcome contributions either in cash after the show, or through eventbrite (see the optional donation line when purchasing a ticket). While advance reservation of tickets is not required, if the show does sell out, preference will be given to those who have reserved a ticket.
For additional information, find us online at improvhistory.com, on twitter @improvhistory, or by email at [email protected].
A note from the venue on accessibility:
The Democracy Center is partially wheelchair accessible, no accessible bathroom on site. The Mandela, Parks, and Chavez rooms are accessible, but the Library is not. Wheelchair users are welcome to use the accessible restroom at Daedalus while we plan our improvements for bathroom accessibility. To reach that bathroom, exit the ramp and turn left on Bow St, at the next building (Daedalus) use their accessible entrance and their restroom will be on the right.
