Join us to explore a playful approach to the drawing process! We will use natural objects as inspiration and as a jumping off point, then we will give free rein to imaginations. We’ll explore the interaction of art and nature to celebrate the creativity of our own unique work. Ideas, examples and exercises will be presented, and there will be time for drawing and feedback.

All skill levels welcome.

This interactive workshop will take place on Zoom. Students will receive the meeting link via email one day prior to the workshop.

Recommended Supplies: your favorite drawing and/or writing supplies, paper or sketchbook, eraser, pencil sharpener. (We know it’s hard to get new art supplies just now, so feel free to join with whatever you have.)

Teacher Bio: Erica Beade is a freelance illustrator and educator specializing in science, health and nature subjects. She began her freelance business, MBC Graphics, in 1998, and since then her work has appeared in numerous books, magazines, exhibits and research journals. The field of scientific illustration has allowed Erica to combine her interests in art, science and the natural world. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art (Drawing and Printmaking) from Wesleyan University and attended the Graphic Arts program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
