Join ILLUMINUS and local artists for an evening of hands on activities, crafts, and games. Dorchester artists are in the process of creating new art experiences that will become a spectacular immersive festival at this site later this fall. Learn about and contribute to each project!

Engage your senses and craft your own unique scent based on a playful memory.

PEEJAY CLARKE

HISTORY. FANTASY. IDENTITY.

Reimagine West African Kingdoms, share what elements of identity are important to you, and create a fantasy character.

SAM LÊ SHAVE

PAIN. LOVE. TRANSCENDENCE.

Contribute to a large-scale community embroidery and customize a mirror with a personal affirmation.

MAKEDA WALLACE

ELEMENTAL. NOSTALGIA. HEALING.

Play double dutch, reminisce over childhood games, and learn some new ones!


Debuting at this event is the immersive interactive DORCHESTER TIME MACHINE, created by a multidisciplinary group of teens from Artists For Humanity. This collaboration between AFH and ILLUMINUS was made possible by sponsorship from National Grid.


The evening will also feature a performance by Kirkos, Circus Up's youth community troupe, and a chance to try your hand at circus skills.


This event is made possible by the Downtown and Neighborhood Activation grant from the Mayor's office of Arts and Culture, and sponsorship by EPSON.
