The North End’s il Molo is participating in the 19th annual Bakes for Breast Cancer in a joint effort to raise money for breast cancer research. Restaurants and bakeries throughout Boston and beyond will band together for this special series that supports breast cancer education, research and awareness by donating its proceeds from a specialty dessert. This year's funds will be supporting the research of Dr. Shom Goel at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Goel’s research focuses on combining immunotherapy and a new class of treatments to more effectively cure breast cancer. The grassroots organization was founded by Carol Brownman Sneider in memory of her mother, Eva Brownman, who lost her battle with breast cancer. Since it’s inception, the event has raised close to $2,000,000 to fund cutting-edge breast cancer research.
In support of this cause, il Molo will be serving up pink cannolis ($8) from May 7-13 and donating 100% of proceeds to Bakes for Breast Cancer. Join us in the fight against breast cancer, and make a difference one sweet at a time! To learn more about Bakes for Breast Cancer, please visit: www.bakesforbreastcancer.org.
