The Opioid Crisis and Advocacy Student Group at William James College will host a screening of the award-winning short film, “If Only” with special guest James Wahlberg, the Executive Director of the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation and the film’s producer.
Youth around the nation are experimenting with non-prescribed prescription drugs, leading many to suffer from opiate addiction. “If Only” tells the story of two teenagers battling addiction to prescription opiates. The short film intends to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug misuse and abuse and start a conversation that encourages the safe use, storage and disposal of prescription drugs.
Following the film, there will be a panel discussion with Executive Producer James Wahlberg, Christopher O’Connor and Rhonda Lotti, all of whom have been affected by addiction.
This event is free and open to the public.
