About The Boston Common Frog Pond
The Boston Common Frog Pond is one of Boston’s most visited destinations with the popular outdoor ice-skating rink in the winter months and a free spray pool in the summer. The Boston Common was established in 1634, making it the oldest city park in the United States. The original swimming holes and pond skating were replaced with the spray pool in the 1970s and the ice rink in 1996. Now, year-round family-friendly activities include the summer spray pool, historic carousel, winter ice skating, professional figure-skating shows, and special events for kids, families, citizens, and visitors. The Boston Common Frog Pond is managed by The Skating Club of Boston on a year-round basis in a public/private partnership with the City of Boston. More information on the Boston Common Frog Pond can be found at www.bostonfrogpond.com.
