SALOON & THE ROCKWELL OFFER DINNER & A MOVIE FOR THE MARCH EDITION OF “HUSH”
A Two-Course Meal followed by the 1920 silent horror classic “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” make the perfect date night in Davis Square
Saloon & The Rockwell are teaming up to offer a one-stop shop of-fun on Wednesday March 1st. For $49 a person you can enjoy a Two-course meal with two drinks at Saloon followed by HUSH, their monthly film series at The Rockwell that celebrates the art of silent film. The band Noxaphonic performs original live music, and Erica Baptiste curates the films.
For dinner, Chef Shayne Nunes is offering the option of a Kale Caesar Salad with shaved Brussels sprouts, garbanzo croutons, & a lemon-anchovy dressing or a Chicken Liver Pate with caramelized apple jam, marinated cucumber, stone ground mustard, & toast points. The second course is either a Grilled Statler Chicken Breast with seared shiitake mushrooms, Tuscan kale, creamy goat cheese polenta, & a sherry-maple glaze or Braised Lamb Cheek Tacos with mint-tomato relish, feta cheese, and grilled tortillas.
Drink options include the choice of the Deacon Brodie gin, cranberry, lime, salt, cucumber, cava, or an Alter Ego blended scotch, cynar, oloroso sherry, whiskey bitters for the first course. For the Second course 2014 Gruner Veltliner, Aichenberg, Niederosterriech, Austria or 2014 Garnacha, La Maldita, Rioja, Spain.
After dinner walk across the hall to The Rockwell for Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. Directed by John S. Robertson and starring John Barrymore it’s based on the hit novel “The strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde” written by Robert Louis Stevenson. This famous and classic story has had dozens of renditions since the novel was released in 1886 however this version is one of the most successful of them all.
