There are so many cool things going on in Boston this season. From holiday light installations to World Cup watch parties, there’s never a dull moment here in The Hub. But having a memorable evening isn’t just about popping into an event, it’s about creating a truly Boston experience.
We’ve put together five itineraries for you to maximize a wintry day in the city. Everything is all planned, all you have to do is go!
DATE NIGHT
- First - Start your evening by exploring Snowport with your honey. This winter wonderland built out in Seaport features beautiful light installations, ice skating, ice sculptures, curling lanes, and a holiday market of local shops. Free | Take the Silver Line to Courthouse Station
- Next - Walk 10-15 minutes to High Street Place, an upscale food hall with offerings from some of the city’s most innovative chefs and restaurants. If your partner isn’t sure what to eat, they’re bound to find something that speaks to them at High Street Place. Price varies | Walk 10-15 minutes or take the Silver Line to South Station
- Finally - Head to the theater district to end the evening at ‘Twas the Night Before…,’ Cirque du Soleil’s first-ever holiday performance. The show tells a heartwarming seasonal story through incredible acrobatics, dynamic dance numbers, and energetic music. If you want to keep the fun going after the show, check out our roundup of hidden speakeasies nearby. $35+ | Walk 10-15 minutes or take the SL4 to Washington Street & Tufts Medical Center
FRIENDS ARE FOREVER
- First - Kick the night off with some friendly competition at Knight Moves Board Game Cafe in Brookline. They have more than 2,000 board games to choose from, from the basics like Chess and Monopoly to more intense narrative games. The restaurant also serves up Asian comfort food with a menu based in Ramen and Pho and including bao, dumplings, spring rolls, and other goodies. Price varies | Walk 5 minutes or take the C Line to Coolidge Corner
