Opening on November 30, 2019, in conjunction with the Annual Lower Mills Holiday Stroll, a calendar’s worth of photographs by noted artist David J Stokle, celebrating the history and beauty of the Neponset River and its newly opened pathway extension will be on display and sale at the Forbes House Museum at 215 Adams St, in Milton.
"Homage to the Neponset" captures the vibrant life and extraordinary beauty of one of Greater Boston’s most scenic and fastest recovering rivers. In fact, on September 26, the Riverway was recognized by the American Planning Association as one of the “six great public spaces of 2019.” Stokle’s photographs highlight the river’s many vistas including the recently opened Harvest pedestrian bridge, which links the greenway all the way from Mattapan through Milton, up to the bridge on Granite Ave near the end of the estuary in Dorchester Bay.
Proceeds from the sale of the framed works will go to benefit the Neponset River Watershed Association, as well as the Forbes House Museum.
