As Harvard College Turkish Student Association and Harvard Hillel, we are honored to have Renan Koen for a recital to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day at Harvard Art Museums' Menschel Hall on January 27th at 8.30 pm.
Looking forward to seeing you at Menschel Hall on January 27th!
Renan Koen, a famous Turkish-Jewish pianist, will be playing select pieces from her album Holocaust Remembrance "Before Sleep", pieces by composers who continued to compose in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp during World War II.
Renan Koen’s 3. album has released in November 24, 2015 which same day with installation of Theresienstadt Concentration Camp (in November 24 1941) by Kalan Müzik. This project, Holocaust Remembrance "Before Sleep”, documents the research conducted by Renan Koen into the life-stories, ideals and works of composers who continued to create notwithstanding the prohibitions imposed on them while being imprisoned in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp during the Second World War. In addition to outstanding works for piano and chorus, enthusiasts can also lend an ear to real-life stories from the war and interviews with survivors’ families.
The concert will take place on January 27th, 8.30pm at Menschel Hall of the Harvard Art Museums. Please plan to be there by 8.15pm to start the program of the evening on time. The program will conclude by 10.00pm.
