Old Speck Mountain is the fourth largest peak in Maine at 4,170 ft and one of the fourteen 4,000 footers in the state. We'll be hiking up via the Eyebrow trail which leads to a ledge overlook with views of Grafton Notch and the surrounding peaks. The trail meets with the Appalachian Trail before heading to a spur trail to the summit. There is a fire-tower at the summit which offers a panoramic view of the White and Mahoosuc Mountain ranges. We'll be hiking down via the Appalachian Trail back to the trail. The total hike will be 6.6 miles in a partial loop. This summit counts for the New England 67 and the Northeast 111.
Previous hiking experience is required, preferably with at least 1,500 ft. of elevation gain. However, no previous winter hiking experience is needed, as long as you have the proper gear.

There will be a gear check for this hike at the pick up location and at the trailhead if you're a non-carpooler. If you don't have the gear, you will not be allowed to join the hike. No exceptions!
