Hike the infamous Mt. Washington in the dead of winter with others who know how to make this an epic, scenic, and amazing adventure. Unlike previous trips you may have seen, this event is just one day of mountaineering rather than the two-day course. You should expect eight hours of hiking and will be guided by professionals who have summitted multiple times in every season. The "Rock Pile" is known to have the World's worst weather, so safety is taken seriously in combination with memorable hiking through our friends at Redline Guiding. Read more about them here.


Proposed Routes:
Potential trails include Ammo, Jewel, the Cog, and even Boott Spur if the group is fit enough. Lion Head will not be an option without training from Redline Guiding or a fine climbing resume that convinces the guides that members are capable and not going to endanger themselves and those around them.


Requirements:


You must have some winter hiking experience to attend. Do not sign up if you've never hiked in winter before.


Gear:
*Any of the gear below can be rented with the guide's help after reserving:
The guide will allow winter hiking boots (rather than plastic mountaineering boots).
Multiple warm, non-cotton layers.
Insulated water bottles to be kept inside your pack.
Non-cotton mountaineering socks.
Headlamp
Microspikes
Hiking poles
Hat
Thick gloves
Waterproof shell jacket and pants


Accommodation:


Accommodation can be selected below for the Friday night before and is two twin beds per room at the North Conway Mountain Inn. You must be comfortable rooming with someone of the opposite sex in case we are unable to find a similar gender.


Additional notes:


Attendees will meet at a location or the trailhead around 6:30-7:00 AM to do a gear check.
