Welcome to a spring hike where the season changes with altitude. Mount Cabot is a 4,170 foot mountain located in Berlin, NH in Coos County, New Hampshire. The mountain is the tallest mountain in the Pilot Range of the White Mountains and has a wooded summit. It is the northernmost 4,000 footer mountain in NH. It has the fifth highest prominence of all the NH mountains. We will hike Mount Cabot as a scenic loop hike with The Bulge and The Horn, all on the New England Hundred highest hiking list. The Horn is also on the 52 with a View list. We will start at the York Pond trail followed by the Bunnell Notch Trail to reach the summit of Cabot, with a pit stop at Bunnell Rock to appreciate the views. From there we will stat on the Kilkenny ridge trail to first hit the Bulge followed by our last peak The Horn, which will also bring us to the best views of the trip.
There will be a gear check for this hike at the trailhead. If you don't have the gear, you will not be allowed to join the hike. No exceptions!
