Hike mount Madison via the most difficult trail for this mountain.
Up Madison via madison gulftrail. - Down via Osgood trail.
Headwall of Madison requires scrambling on ledges and boulders.
Very strenuous and steep. ONLY Madison!
10 miles hike- 4000 feet elevation gain.
Check - Trail here:
You will be in the alpine zone. In addition Osgood trail is well known to be exposed to elements, meaning that you will be exposed to wind, humidity and cold pretty fast. In addition to that, the weather up there is gonna be COLD. Many people underestimate the weather in the mountains.
Please read the required gears properly before signing up to the hike. I will turn you back if you are missing major pieces of equipment. “Summer is gone and past…”
This trail is for experienced hikers. Must have hiked several 4000 footers. When I mean experienced, I mean someone who can read a map, locate marks and signs above treeline and keep the group safe. For the people who just wanna race into the wild, and go randomly out of trail cause there is a big field of rocks, this hike is not for you. We are gonna be in a wilderness area, so marks are very minimalistic around the headwall. Use your head to think and don’t run into the first wall!
You NEED :
-Answer to my screening questions. No answers=OUT I want clear answers about the highest summit you’ve been hiking + brief summary of your hiking experience + gears you will bring. Being familiar is not enough!
-Bring the required gears
-HAVE A LOOK at the MAP (click on the link above) I am not a guide, you will be responsible of your own safety.
- I will GSA (Gear safety administration) carefully.
-Hiking is a team game, pay attention to your fellow hikers. If that bothers you to help your fellow hikers, you can just hike solo.
