Please read the description of this hike. This hike is very strenuous, long hike with significant elevation gain over a short distance and a lot of scrambling. Description:


We'll be hiking Mount Adams and Madison in a 9 mi loop, one of the most incredible hikes in New Hampshire, offering 360 views of the surrounding mountains throughout the White's. We'll start at the Appalachia Trailhead. On the way up, we'll take the Valley Way trail to summit Mount Madison, followed by Mount Adams and descend using the Airline Trail. This hike has a lot of scrambling, elevation gain and will be spending a significant amount of time above treeline.


Total distance of hike: 9 miles


Elevation gain: 4,744 ft.


Difficulty: Hard

What to bring:


Waterproof insulated hiking boots


Non-cotton layers


Headlamp


Microspikes


Gloves


Hat


2-3 liters of water insulated


Extra pair of socks, preferably insulatd


Snacks and lunch. You will be burning a lot of energy!
