Mount Garfield is a 4,500 ft. mountain in the White Mountains. The summit offers some of the best views in the White Mountains, including Franconia Ridge and the Presidential Mountains. We'll be taking the Garfield Trail out-and-back from the summit. Total distance is 9.6 miles with ~3000ft of elevation gain.
Previous hiking experience in the White Mountains is required (something with similar elevation gain is preferred) and you should be in shape and maintain regular cardio. However, though this trip is marked as difficult, this is one of the easier 4k footers, so if you're looking to start tackling them, this might be a good place to start!

If you don't have the gear, you will not be allowed to join the hike. No exceptions!
What to bring:
Required:
Hiking boots (no sneakers)
Non-cotton layers - weather can be variable!
Headlamp - I don't anticipate hiking us not getting back before dark, but this is always good to have
2-3 liters of water
Electrolytes
Snacks and lunch. You will be burning a lot of energy!
Map of the trail (AllTrails/digital map is fine)
Positive attitude! We will be hiking together, so we should try to be good company for each other.
Optional:
Hat
Trekking poles
