Mount Garfield is a 4,500 ft. mountain in the White Mountains. The summit offers some of the best views in the White Mountains, including Franconia Ridge and the Presidential Mountains. We'll be taking the Garfield Trail out-and-back from the summit. The road to the trail head is closed during winter. For this reason, the hike will be 12.4 miles with 3,024 ft elevation gain total.
Previous hiking experience is required, preferably with at least 2,500 ft. of elevation gain.
Note: Only sign up for the hike if you know you can go on the hike. Signing up for the hike then flaking at the last minute can impact another person's ability to join the adventure. Signing up then flaking last minute will impact your ability to sign up for future adventures. Drivers will be compensated for gas and travel by driving riders to and from the trailhead. Thank you so much for making these adventures possible!

There will be a gear check for this hike at the pick up location and at the trailhead if you're a non-carpooler. If you don't have the gear, you will not be allowed to join the hike. No exceptions!
What to bring (conditions will vary in the spring):
Waterproof hiking boots
Snowshoes (I will confirm this depending on the trail conditions, may be postholing with melting snow)

Water-resistant or waterproof pants. Thermal layer if necessary.
Non-cotton base layer (preferable wool or synthetic).
Non-cotton, breathable mid-layer
Water-resistant or waterproof hard/soft shell jacket
