Join Boston-based Mozambican funk band Kina Zoré for a unique collaboration with Brooklyn-based Burundian author Pacifique Irankunda.


Pacifique will read from his award-winning memoir The Tears of a Man Flow Inward. “In this moving memoir, Irankunda recalls living through a 13-year civil war that upended his life in Burundi when he was only 4 years old and contemplates the loss of his country’s culture and tradition to the violence.”—The New York Times


Irankunda and Kina Zoré founder Helder Tsinine will have a discussion sharing their personal experiences with civil war and healing followed by an uplifting performance from Kina Zoré.
