This October, step into Salem’s dark past on a candlelit visit to several of PEM’s historic houses located in the heart of downtown. Hear haunting tales of murder and mystery based on real events, told by storytellers dressed in authentic period garb. Listen as a young girl is terrorized in the night by an inhuman creature stalking Salem, or hear how a man encounters vampires at every turn. And discover how one historic house becomes the site of a horrific murder.
These intimate stories, told in groups of 12 or less, will be sure to raise the hair on your arms. To calm your beating heart, consider purchasing warm drinks and sugary bites from the food truck. For the goosebump-inducing ticket holders, join us around the firepit to warm up and hear even more haunted tales from our roving rogue.
Storytelling takes place inside three of PEM’s historic houses: the John Ward (1684), Quaker Meeting (about 1688), and Derby-Beebe Summer house (1799). Goosebump-inducing tales for adults last around 45 minutes.
