There is wide patient-to-patient variability in response to all therapies for obesity (i.e. lifestyle, pharmacological treatment, bariatric surgery). This observed variability may reveal the existence of specific sub-types of obesity, and have profound implications for the development of novel prevention and treatment strategies. Experts in the field of obesity medicine, including faculty from Harvard Medical School (HMS) and around the globe, will lead a discussion of the complexities of obesity and an assessment of its causes and effective treatment. Offered in conjunction with the HMS Blackburn Course in Obesity Medicine, the 2018 Public Forum includes an opportunity to ask questions to the faculty and help frame the discussion. The session is free and open to the public.
