Join me, Daniel Vickers, American Mountain Guide Association certified climbing instructor, and try out top rope climbing at Hammond Pond. On this day, I will set up all of the ropes, teach you how to belay and climb, take photos, and supervise your day! It's going to be a really great time where you'll get to learn a little bit, explore one of my lifelong passions, and get outside and be active. We'll provide all of the necessary gear like harnesses, helmets, etc. Please be sure to bring water, a lunch, snacks and anything else you might need.
Hammond Pond is a great small crag with so much to offer. The rock here is a unique conglomerate material that makes the climbing feel new and fun. Many of the routes at this crag are also very good for crack climbing, a climbing technique that is hard to get expose to anywhere except the great outdoors. It is going to be fun, adventurous, and full of great new climbing movement, even for experienced gym climbers. This crag is even accessible via the 'Riverside' T stop along the green line.
