Join Hatch Makerspace by the WFPL for “Halloween by Hatch, a Costume Design Contest” on October 26, 7-9pm. This FREE family-friendly event (styled after the hit TV show Project Runway) will feature costumes by local makers of all ages, mask making for the audience, and the chance to see Watertown’s cultural gem, The Plumbing Museum. The Plumbing Museum has generously partnered with Hatch to open its doors for this public and free event.
Participation for the event has closed but don your best costume and get ready to vote for the People’s Choice champion! In addition to People’s Choice, contestants will be judged by a local panel of experts: Cheryl Moreau, artisan and textiles instructor, Sasha Parfenova, visual artist and Museum Program Manager of the Plumbing Museum, and Charlie Breitrose, Editor and Publisher of the Watertown News. Costumes are encouraged and treats will be supplied!
We’re always here to help with your costume making! Need to use a sewing machine, find finishes, or get some guidance? Hatch Makerspace is open Mon-Thur 1-9 and Fri-Sun 1-4. Swing by for the Fiber Arts Drop-In every Monday 3-6 for some targeted assistance.
