Do you find yourself making up stories for strangers you see out in the world? Do you love to create settings and dream up characters? In this workshop, we'll explore the wonderful, creative world of fiction. First, we'll read and discuss some short stories that exemplify what fiction can be and do. Then, we'll practice the craft with 3 writing exercises that will help you develop up to 3 story ideas of your own. Last, we'll talk about how to submit your work for publication. Writers of all fiction genres welcome! Students will leave class with an introduction to fiction, the beginning of a fiction story of their own, and tips for submitting work for publication. For writers age 13-18 ONLY


Students who need an MBTA pass to commute to class can request one on our website. Snacks, pens, notebooks, chromebooks (limited amount), and post-class pizza will be provided!
