Join us for a Charity Golf Event Supporting Neighborhood Birthing Center (NBC)– “Boston’s first free standing birthing center” is raising funds for its Capital Campaign with a goal of building a facility in the Roxbury community that enables midwives, doulas and other birth workers to do their best work, supporting mothers through birth and beyond.
The maternal mortality rate in the United States has risen 113% since 1990.
Building a state-of-the-art community birth center will be one step that we can take here in Boston towards reversing that trend.
BIRTH CENTER IMPACT- birth center/midwifery care shows:
40% reduction in cesarean rates
26% reduction in preterm birth rates
21% reduction in health care costs
