11/29/22-12/3/22 Creatives of Color Boston will be hosting a week of Resource Sharing & Virtual Workshops
This year has been quite the rollercoaster ride. Creatives of Color Boston invites you to #GivingToYourselfWeek2022, which kicks off on Giving Tuesday! Join Creatives of Color Boston for a week of self-care, movement, art, and more!
12/1 @7pm - Radical Self-Love Letters with Saafyr
An affirmation-filled workshop led with a 5-step guide to pour into your own cup. Learn how to find your center and the message that comes with it through creative writing a love letter to yourself. We will explore through quiet journaling and moments of self-reflection. There may be radical messages within you seeking to be read instead of your junk mail.
12/3 @12pm - The Gift of Stilless: Learning to Grant Yourself Peace Through Restorative Movement, Meditation + Rest with Marlene Boyette
This workshop / Wellness offering is dedicated to rebellion against the impulse to prioritize productivity over rest, release and restoration. So much of our creative energy is connected to the ability to be well rested and deeply connected to Self. Through movement, stillness and sound (intended to encourage release), each participant will be welcomed to experience ease.
Please wear comfortable clothing and have a yoga mat and / or blanket, as well as a writing utensil and journal/notebook.
12/3 @2pm - Ser Artista: Centering Wellness Through Artistic Practice with Doctora Xingona Diana Alvarez
This session with singer-songwriter, poet, filmmaker, scholar, and educator Doctora Xingona Diana Alvarez will center collective wellness, healing, and liberation through artistic practice. Rooted in the traditions of fellow QTBIPOC artists, and their lived experience as a genderqueer Xicanx independent artist, Diana will interweave teachings by artists who resist oppression and build chosen family through art. Participants in this session will be invited to create poetry, music/sound, and altars in response to multisensory creative prompts with Doctora Xingona. This space is designed for artists of all experiences, and especially those who are shy about claiming their artistry, or who would like to spend more time being creative.
Tune into our Instagram for resource sharing! All workshops will be virtual. A link to join each event will be sent out via email 1-hour before the scheduled start time.
